Swedish media recently published that Ibrahimovic, through a company he owns, is a shareholder in a Malta-based sports betting company
UEFA confirmed on Monday the opening of a disciplinary procedure for the Swedish Milan player Zlatan Ibrahimovic due to the possible violation of its regulations for his alleged financial interest in a betting company.
In compliance with article 31 (4) of its Disciplinary Regulations, UEFA has appointed an inspector who will conduct the investigation of the case, on which it will provide more information in due course, as announced.
Swedish media recently published that Ibrahimovic, through a company he owns, is a shareholder of a sports betting company based in Malta, a situation that contravenes FIFA and UEFA regulations, which provide for financial sanctions and suspension of up to three years.
The Swedish striker, who will turn 40 next October, has just renewed his contract with Milan until June 30, 2022, according to the Italian club on the 22nd.
