Zaldivar and Ponce emulate Bofo and Omar Bravo’s circus celebration

With this triumph, Chivas is shaping up to the playoffs in the absence of a matchday

AAngel Zaldivar and Miguel Ponce emulated the circus celebration, which some years ago Omar Bravo and Adolfo “Bofo” Bautista performed in the National Classic against America in the 2006 Apertura.

The origin of the celebration was due to the statement of Manuel Lapuente, then the azulcremas sports director, who, prior to the meeting, mentioned that Chivas was a circus due to the problems and irregularities that the Flock had.

After his annotation “Bofo” commented that before the game he agreed with Bravo on how to celebrate. “The clowns were them. We were the ones from the circus, the clowns were them,” said the then Chivas forward.

In recent days, Óscar Benitez and Michel Benítez, members of Tapatío, also emulated the celebration by scoring the winning goal against Tlaxcala during the playoffs of the Liga de Expansión Mx.
