Under 18s can only get COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer

Starting Monday, anyone over 16 years of age will be able to receive the vaccine against the coronavirus, COVID-19.

The announcement was made by Governor Pedro Pierluisi in his status message from the House of Representatives.

Those under 18, 16 and 17, can only receive the vaccine from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, since it is the only one approved for these ages.

In the case of those over 18, the Department of Health reported that they could receive any of the vaccines, Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson.

At the end of March, Pfizer announced that it would be requesting authorization from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to vaccinate people between the ages of 12 and 15.
