KIEV, Apr 5 (Reuters) – Ukraine’s corn exports fell 25% in the first half of the 2020/2021 season from October to September, to 15.9 million tonnes, while China emerged as the leading main market for shipments, consulting firm APK-Inform said on Monday, citing customs data.
Ukraine exported 6 million tons of corn to China between October 2020 and March 2021, while it shipped 5 million tons to the European Union, 1.7 million tons to Egypt and 3.2 million tons to other destinations.
Ukraine harvested around 30 million tons of corn in 2020 and the Ministry of Economy said that exports of the cereal would not exceed 24 million tons in 2020/21.
