KIEV, Apr 28 (Reuters) – Ukraine’s ending corn stocks for the 2020/21 season could reach a record 2.7 million tonnes, up 70% from the previous season, agricultural consultancy APK reported on Wednesday -Inform.
Ukraine harvested 30.3 million tonnes of corn in 2020 and the consultancy forecast that exports could reach 23.2 million tonnes.
“Such a significant volume of corn stocks should have an overwhelming effect on price dynamics,” said the consultant, noting that however the limited supply of corn from farmers to the market continues to support an upward trend of the values.
Ukraine has exported 18.7 million tons of corn as of April 28, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture.
