A couple was surprised by an avalanche in South Tyrol and died. The police went looking for the two skiers.
Two skiers died on Sunday in an avalanche in South Tyrol in northern Italy. Italian media reported that they were caught by the snow masses in a ski area on the Schnalstal Glacier. The accident occurred over the place Maso Corto at an altitude of about 2,000 meters.
The victims were reportedly a couple from the region. According to the police, mountain rescuers were on duty to search for the two buried victims.
