A magnitude 5.3 earthquake shook eastern Turkey, the country’s disaster management agency (AFAD) announced. According to the Interior Minister, there were no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of around 16 kilometers, according to the AFAD. The epicenter was in Elazig Province, which was hit by a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in January that killed 39 people.
