The mother of three young children who were found with fatal stab wounds in a Los Angeles apartment was taken into custody Saturday in connection with the crime, police said.
Liliana Carrillo, 30, was described as the “sole suspect” in the murderthe Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) tweeted.
Police said Carrillo had been detained in Ponderosa, California, a mountainous Sierra Nevada community more than 200 miles from Los Angeles.
LAPD spokeswoman Rosario Cervantes said Carrillo was not under arrest, and Lt. Ben Fernandes described the woman as having exhibited “erratic behavior.”
Carrillo was receiving medical treatment for unspecified reasons, Cervantes said at a press conference, where Lt. Anthony Cato said other family members were being interviewed about the case.
It was not immediately clear if Carrillo had a lawyer.
The grim discovery of the three dead children was made by your grandmother around 9:30 a.m. in the Reseda neighborhood, in the San Fernando Valley, Sgt. David Bambrick told affiliate NBC Los Angeles.
All the victims are under the age of 5, according to police, who added that Carrillo would be questioned about it.

Minutes after naming Carrillo a “person of interest,” Los Angeles police said the woman had stolen a car near Bakersfield, California, and that she may have been driving a stolen Silver Toyota pickup.
