After an image was released on social networks in which a person is seen being treated on the floor of a hospital, the Ministry of Health of the Mexico City reported that the photograph corresponds to the interior of the Enrique Cabrera General Hospital, located in Álvaro Obregón, and that this event occurred to perform resuscitation maneuvers on the man immediately, that is, it was an emergency.

The agency detailed that this event occurred during this morning, when the patient entered the medical unit by his own means and immediately lost consciousness. It does not detail whether or not he suffered from Covid-19

The patient suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest, so, to speed up his care, the doctors made the decision to perform resuscitation maneuvers immediately while on the floor, which were insufficient and unfortunately he died.

The Health Secretary capital city indicated that the family of the deceased has received the comprehensive care necessary from the hands of the institutions of the City Government.

“The health workers who are in the first line of attention to Covid, minute by minute, do everything necessary to save lives and their work is fully recognized,” he said.

The Ministry of Health assured that it reviews daily the needs for hospital equipment and infrastructure to best serve this pandemic. “This is and has been a direct instruction from the Head of Government and the entire health system is in it permanently.”
