The Volkswagen Nivus was developed in Brazil, but with an eye beyond the borders of Latin America. Its European version is almost ready, and in preparation for its release, the German firm reveals its appearance in a handful of teasers and confirms its name: Volkswagen Taigo.
Illustrations show little design change from the Nivus. The main differences of Volkswagen Taigo It will be a bright grille – Taos-style – and the availability of an R-Line package, with a more aggressive fascia and a sporty bumper with four simulated tailpipes.
Like the Nivus in Latin America, the Taigo will be a more athletic alternative to the T-Cross in Europe. At the moment the offer of engines has not been confirmed, although everything indicates that it will be available both with the 1.0 TSI de 110 hp, as with the 1.5 TSI de 150 hp, with the option of manual or automatic double clutch gearbox.

In the coming weeks all the details of the Volkswagen Taigo para Europa. Its production will take place at the brand’s facilities in Pamplona, Spain, in the same factory of the Polo. Upon reaching the market, the Taigo will compete against Ford Puma, Peugeot 2008, Mazda CX-3, among others.
