He Tamaulipas government denounced the CFE (Federal Electricity Commission) before the Attorney General of the entity, to identify those responsible for allegedly having prepared and disseminated apocryphal documents with those who justified the massive blackout in the country last week that left millions of people without service for a couple of hours.

The General Secretariat of the Tamaulipas government reported this Sunday of the complaint of facts against whoever is responsible in the CFE, using as basis of their accusations various articles (221, 222, 223 and 224) of National Code of Criminal Procedures. “The case must not go unpunished”local authorities said in a statement quoted by local media.

And it is that, after the blackout last Monday that, for a couple of hours, affected 10.3 million users and left them without electricity supply in 12 entities of the country, including Mexico City and Monterrey, CFE and Cenace (National Center for Energy Control) explained that it was due to the shutdown of two transmission lines in two substations.

This unleashed a protection mechanism that suspended the operation of 16 power plants, due to fluctuations in the National Interconnected System. This Tuesday, both agencies detailed that the causes that these mechanisms were triggered was the fire in a pasture in the state of Tamaulipas, in the northeast of the country, which affected two lines and caused the reaction.

However, the controversy did not stop with the explanation, since hours later, the Civil Protection coordination in Tamaulipas pointed out that the document that CFE presented on the fire in the municipality of Padilla was apocryphal.

The entity’s Civil Protection authorities added that the alleged 911 call made at 3:00 p.m. (Central Mexico time) last Monday to report the fire that affected the structure of the CFE did not occur until, at 5:00 p.m., CFE personnel reported the accident.

“The service (of Civil Protection) was not required because, somehow, they were solving it. We didn’t even participate in that fire. We find it strange to be involved with a supposed job where they do a whole narrative with other schedules”, The public official added.

Last Wednesday, in the usual conference of the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the president’s spokesman, Jesus Ramirez Cuevas, shared a video for show the ravages of the fire in Tamaulipas which supposedly led to the blackouts that occurred throughout the country on Monday, December 28.

However, The Tamaulipas government reiterated this Sunday, after making its complaint known, that the “apocryphal document”, shown by the CFE to the media last week, it is “a communication that never existed”.

The entity’s authorities offered four reasons why the document in question is invalid. In the first place, they specified, the exposed signature of the Director of Coordination with Municipalities is different from that of the state official. The same server never signed the letter presented.

Furthermore, the format and arrangement of the logos incorporated in the document are different from those used by the State Coordination for Civil Protection. Likewise, the description of the facts is false, since, according to the Tamaulipas governmentCivil Protection had no participation in the aforementioned grassland fire, and the logs do not show any calls from CFE on the 911 emergency number.

Finally, they highlighted that the folio number “is fraudulent” as it does not coincide with the institutional series. “Besides that lacks dispatch stamps”They added.

“Given the evident lack of honesty and commission of crimes in the preparation and dissemination of apocryphal documents, which was manifested in the press conference headed by the CFE, These behaviors must be investigated and the corresponding responsibilities should be defined, with the aim that those responsible are punished”, They asserted.

López Obrador, for his part, accused last week his opponents to launch in favor of the privatization of electricity in Mexico. “There is a problem, like this blackout, and they make a scandal and assume that it is already the debacle of the Federal Electricity Commission, which they would like, they are eager for the sector to be handed over to individuals,” he said.

The massive blackout also caused the opposition in Congress will request an independent investigation by the CFE to determine the reasons for the incident, as well as to define the responsibilities of the authorities involved.
