According to what was said by the health authorities, the patient arrived at the clinic “by his own means” during the early hours of Tuesday, January 5. Just seconds after he arrived, he fell to the ground as a result of a cardiorespiratory arrest.
“He immediately lost consciousness, fell into cardiorespiratory arrest, so in order to speed up his care, the doctors made the decision to carry out resuscitation maneuvers immediately while on the floor,” the statement from the Capital Health Secretariat reads .
As part of the quick maneuvers, the doctors decided to treat the man in the same place so as not to waste time, so they tried to resuscitate him on the ground, where the patient lay. Despite this, the efforts of the health personnel did not work and the man lost his life.
The information issued by the Sedesa indicated that the patient could not be tested to detect the new coronavirus, therefore it is unknown that his death is linked to this disease, but the “Enrique Cabrera” hospital, located in the Álvaro Obregón Mayor’s Office , it is only for COVID-19 patients.
The capital dependency explained that the family of the deceased man already receives the necessary comprehensive care “from the hands of the city government institutions.”
Finally, he recalled that daily balances are made to review what is missing in the equipment and infrastructure of each hospital in the capital of the country to better serve the victims of this new disease. He also indicated that the health personnel who are in the first line of attention to COVID “do everything necessary” to save the lives of each and everyone.
“The health workers who are on the front lines of COVID care, minute by minute, do everything necessary to save lives and their work is fully recognized. This is and has been a direct instruction from the Head of Government and the entire health system is in it permanently ”, concluded the Sedesa.
