The reasons why Gabe Robinson and Javier Estrada have not debuted in Municipal

The two footballers arrived as reinforcements for the 2021 Clausura Tournament, however, they have not yet played any game with the scarlet squad.

GUATEMALA — Gabe Robinson and Javier Estrada They arrived to reinforce the Municipal squad in this 2021 Closing Tournament, but the ninth day is passing and they have not yet debuted, they have not even been summoned.

The 19-year-old midfielder, Javier Estrada, arrived at the scarlet institution in January from Deportivo Suchitepéquez and the 26-year-old American-Guatemalan defender, Gabe Robinson, he did it at the beginning of March, his last club was Las Vegas Lights FC, from the USL Championship in the United States.

The two footballers do not add up to a single minute in the current local competition, which has awakened the intrigue of the fans. ESPN Digital chatted with Martin Plachot, Municipal sports manager on this situation: “Gabe Robinson the last game he played was in September, he was not in a formal training session since that month, since the issue of the leagues was complicated by Covid-19, he did not come in his better physical shape, He is already enabled, but this week he had a muscular resentment”.

For the sports manager there is no urgency in which the defender makes his debut, since he will be a complement in the central rear of the scarlet box: “The hiring of him, we handle it to reinforce the area, we are seeing how he is at the level of the others . Gabe becomes the fourth central defender, we are going to observe him in his evolution, it is not that he has been hired to play already, it will be an option”.

For its part, Javier Estrada is in a similar situation, since it is a bet for the future in the institution: “We went looking for it since June of last year and we also looked for it as a player’s bet on the future, We were aware that perhaps it was not going to be in this semester that he had the necessary play space, since there are Rosales, Alvarado, Brandon de León, Rudy Barrientos, Alas and Frank de León, he has not had space because the midfielders have been firm and there have been no injuries, but more than anything, it was that he will adapt to the club in these months.

“He is a player with great conditions, but he has to adapt to the high-performance training conditions that out there is not the one he brought because of the pandemic, now he is much better than when he came, he will have his moment,” concluded Martin Plachot about the midfielder from ‘the deer’ of Deportivo Suchitepéquez.
