The Premier League will observe a minute of silence in this weekend’s matches due to the death of Prince Philip of Edinburgh, at the age of 99.
The players will also wear a black armband for the death of the monarch, which occurred this Friday, as a way of showing respect to the royal family.
“The Premier League is deeply affected by the death of His Majesty Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Her Majesty the Queen, to the Royal Family and to all those in the world who feel the death of the Prince.” said the Premier in a statement.
