“With The Hardwire, we made a commitment to introduce a series of motorcycles in line with our strategy to increase desire and advance the Harley-Davidson legacy,” explains Jochen Zeitz, President and CEO of Harley-Davidson. “With this in mind, I am proud to present our new limited-production Icons Collection, a series of extraordinary motorcycle adaptations that look back to our storied past and bright future.”
The first motorcycle in the collection
The first of this exclusive collection will be the retro-classic Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Revival. It will consist of a limited series of 1,500 copies, which reaches dealers at the end of April, with a retail price of 34.500 euros.
It is inspired by the 1969 Electra Glide, the first Harley-Davidson motorcycle available with an accessory batwing fairing. This fairing became an icon – often imitated – of the Harley-Davidson style and has transcended to this day. In 1969, the fairing and panniers were only offered in white molded fiberglass, and the Electra Glide Revival reproduces that look with a painted Birch White finish. The period-inspired tank medallion and Electra Glide lettering on the front fender complete the look, explains the manufacturer.
In addition, the motorcycle looks single saddle with a black and white cover and chrome rail, mounted on an adjustable coil spring and shock absorber (nod to Harley-Davidson FL models from the 60s and a functional feature that adds comfort to the rider), spoke rims chromed steel, wide tires white stripe, bright accents on the front fender and panniers, Ventilator air filter cover, fork covers Y auxiliary lights.
And in case it has not been clear to you that the motorcycles that make up the Harley-Davidson Icons Collection may be some of the most exclusive Harley in history, The Electra Glide Revival will also be offered in a unique colourway inspired by the original 1969 look: bi-color fuel tank in Hi-Fi Blue and bisected Black Denim with a Birch White stripe, with Hi-Fi Blue paint on the sides. fenders and side panels.
“We live in a very dynamic age, each of us experiencing constant change,” says Brad Richards, Vice President of Style and Design for Harley-Davidson. “The Electra Glide Revival is an oasis in this daily turbulence, a way to reconnect with the fundamental Harley-Davidson DNA that created the Grand American Touring.”
The Harley Electra Glide Revival is powered by a motor Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-Twin with these technical characteristics:
- Displacement: 114 cubic inches (1868 cc)
- Engine torque: 160 Nm at 3250 RPM
- Four-valve cylinder heads (two exhaust and two intake per cylinder head, eight in total); increased airflow through the engine contributes to power.
- Double spark plug for a more complete combustion of the air / fuel mixture and to maximize power and consumption.
- The 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission reduces the engine speed at highway speeds to improve fuel consumption and ride comfort.
Classic style, modern technology
The basis of the model Electra Glide Revival It is the Harley-Davidson Touring single-beam chassis, with a rigid backbone to support the weight of the luggage and support all the power of the current engine. The entire cycle part is designed for long journeys. A single knob hydraulically adjusts the preload of the rear shock absorbers with emulsion technology for optimal handling and control. The 49mm fork with double flex valve suspension technology offers linear damping characteristics for a smooth ride, says Harley.
The classic carenado Bat Wing It features a tall, clear windshield and a Splitstream vent that helps reduce turbulence in the rider’s head area. Electronic cruise control allows you to maintain a constant speed for comfort on long trips, while a halogen headlight and auxiliary incandescent lamps provide better lighting and maintain the same old style.
The multimedia system Boom! Color touchscreen GTS Box powers two fairing-mounted speakers and features advanced navigation and voice and manual commands (when paired with a compatible headset), plus Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.
“It also equips the assistance systems as standard Harley-Davidson RDRS Safety Enhancements, a collection of technologies designed to match motorcycle performance to available traction during acceleration, deceleration and braking phases, “reports the manufacturer, including:
- Cornering Enhanced Anti-Lock Braking System (C-ABS)
- Enhanced Electronic Combined Cornering Braking (C-ELB)
- Cornering Enhanced Traction Control System (C-TCS)
- Motor brake control system (DSCS)
- Hill Vehicle Control (HHC)
