The Government of San Juan reported that the president is admitted to the Rawson Hospital to control his evolution

Sergio Uñac, governor of San Juan, has coronavirus. He reported it this Sunday morning through his social networks and through a statement signed by the Governorate of the province that states that the governor “presented symptoms compatible with COVID-19, therefore, according to current protocols, he was performed an antigen swab, yielding a positive result ”.

For his part, Uñac said: “I want to tell you that during the morning I was notified as positive for COVID-19. I feel fine, doing the corresponding checks. I will comply with the isolation and with each of the precautions to take care of my health and that of all. I will continue working, with the commitment of always, for each of the San Juan people. In this special time, I ask you to continue taking care of yourself as you have been doing ”.

After presenting a symptomatic picture with effects similar to those caused by the coronavirus, the corresponding check-ups were carried out at the Rawson Hospital. There, and before a positive swab, the health team decided to stay in the area for COVID patients to better control their evolution.

Yesterday, the provincial president had participated in a virtual meeting led by President Alberto Fernández where the details of the vaccination plan that will begin next week throughout the country were agreed. Uñac reported that San Juan will receive 4,700 doses of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V that will be applied in a first stage to medical personnel.

On August 14, the positive diagnosis of the first Argentine governor to contract the virus had been confirmed. Gerardo Morales placeholder image, the governor of Jujuy, announced it on his Facebook account: “I want to tell you that they just confirmed my positive Covid-19 diagnosis. I am asymptomatic, complying with isolation and all medical recommendations ”. At that time, the province was on the verge of collapse: human resources such as doctors and nurses were lacking to cover a demand for cases that caused the occupancy of highly complex beds to reach 95 percent.

On the first day of September, the governor of the province of Entre Ríos also made his announcement on social networks, Gustavo Bordet. “I want to tell you that they confirmed the positive diagnosis of Covid-19. I am very well, I am asymptomatic, complying with isolation and attentive to medical indications. Meanwhile, I continue to carry out my obligations and work from home, ”he reported. Its contagion generated an alert in the presidential environment: Bordet had participated five days before in the launching ceremony of the Federal Waterway Agreement together with Alberto Fernández and the Interior Ministers, Eduardo De Pedro; of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas; and Transportation of the Nation, Mario Meoni. But his symptoms appeared two days after that meeting that took place in an open place, with a mask and social distancing.

Omar perotti, Governor of Santa Fe, had participated in that event along with other provincial peers. He was the third governor to be infected. “I want to tell you that they confirmed the positive diagnosis of COVID-19. I am fine, I will continue to comply with isolation and always attentive to medical advice. I ask everyone to take care of themselves and their families, ”the provincial president reported on Twitter on December 3.

It is suspected that Perotti caught the infection from his provincial Minister of Security, Marcelo Sain, after they shared a trip to Bariloche, in the province of Río Negro, to attend the signing of the agreement with INVAP for the purchase of technology used in the security area. He spent eight days in preventive isolation until the result of the swab was finally known. In quarantine due to close contact with those infected, there were also Axel Kicillof, governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Rodolfo Suárez, president of Mendoza, and the president of the Nation, after Gustavo Béliz, secretary of Strategic Affairs, tested positive after a trip to Bolivia by virtue of the inauguration of Luis Arce.
