It was ratified by the AFIP through General Resolution 4895/2020, published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette. The measure will be in effect until March 31, 2021, inclusive.

The rule determines that vaccination against the coronavirus “will be voluntary, free, equitable and equal and must be guaranteed to the entire target population, regardless of the history of having had the disease“.

In this sense, it is emphasized that to “achieve the objective of achieving high vaccination coverage in a timely manner”, it requires “articulated, collaborative and multisectoral actions at all levels of government, together with social organizations.”

In accordance with what is stated in the resolution, the Ministry of Health is in charge of providing the rest of the provinces with the vaccines that are authorized, as well as the syringes, needles, disposers and vaccination cards.

It is also specified that vaccination will be staggered, taking into account the availability of the input, and considering priority population for adults over 60 years of age, health personnel, strategic personnel and risk groups“.

Through the Health Networks Program, the health portfolio will make transfers to the provinces to be used for the implementation of the vaccination campaign.

In the resolution published today, mention was made that the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends the application of vaccines “as a fundamental primary prevention tool to limit the health and economic consequences of the pandemic.”
