The CONMEBOL Libertadores group stage was drawn

This Friday in the city of Luque, Paraguay, the group stage of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Cup was drawn.

The Brazilian Palmeiras, champion of the 2020 Libertadores, and the Argentine Defense and Justice, winner of the South American 2020, will meet in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores 2021.

As a general rule, two teams from the same country should not be in the same zone, unless one comes from the preliminary phase.

The group stage will begin on April 21 and end on May 26, at which time the tournament will stop to give way to the Copa América. It will resume in July with the round of 16, the quarterfinals will be August, the semi-finals in September and the final will be held on November 20.

B GROUP: Olimpia (Par), Internacional (Bra), Deportivo Táchira (Come), Always Ready (Bol)

GROUP C: Boca Juniors (Arg), Barcelona (Ecu), The Strongest (Bol), San Lorenzo o Santos

GROUP D: River Plate (Arg), Independiente Santa Fe (Col), Fluminense (Bra), Junior or Bolívar

GROUP E: San Pablo (Bra), Racing Club (Arg), Sporting Cristal (Per), Rentistas (Uru)

GROUP F: Nacional (Uru), Catholic University (Chi), Argentinos Juniors (Arg), Atlético Nacional or Libertad

GROUP G: Flamengo (Bra), Liga de Quito (Ecu), Vélez Sarsfield (Arg), Unión La Calera (Chi)

GROUP H: Cerro Porteño (Pair), Atlético Mineiro (Bra), América de Cali (Col), Deportivo La Guaira (Come)
