Municipal authorities reported that a living place in Ixtapaluca ended up in ruins, after a strong gas explosion that arose this morning.
Another 20 homes surrounding the property of the accident, located on Francisco Villa Street, almost on the corner with Camino Real, in the Centro neighborhood, in the Mexico state, registered damage to their facades.

The gas explosion occurred around 1:50 am and the noise was heard in several blocks around, waking up the frightened neighbors who came out to see what was happening. Fortunately, there were no injured people, but some with nervous breakdowns.
PC and firefighters came to the area
After registering the gas explosion, firefighters and Civil Protection personnel arrived at the scene, and upon arrival they found one of the houses demolished walls and about 50 people on the street who, upon hearing the strong gas explosion, left the property.
After a few minutes, the firefighters were able to fight and put out the fire. Subsequently, they closed the gas supply and also inspected the installation in order to avoid risks.
For its part, the Public Security Directorate issued a report in which it detailed more of the accident. ”Regarding the explosion that was reported at approximately 01:50 hours in Francisco Villa street corner Camino Real colonia Ixtapaluca Centro, it was an address where there was accumulation of gas, at the moment there are only people with a nervous breakdown, no human losses are reported, only material damage, ”the statement read.
Likewise, it was reported that due to the gas explosion, at least 20 neighboring properties were damaged; while the house where the explosion occurred presents risks of collapsing.

During the maneuvers, some municipal police closed the passage to prevent people from approaching the damaged area.
It is worth mentioning that hours later, elements of the Attorney General’s Office arrived to carry out the corresponding expert reports and investigations. The specialists will determine if the house where the explosion occurred should be demolished.
