Spain wants to note vaccination refusers in the register

Spain wants to record all citizens who do not want to be vaccinated against Corona in a register. Health Minister Salvador Illa announced this in an interview with the television channel La Sexta.

Every citizen will receive an invitation to a vaccination appointment according to the vaccination plan. The vaccination is voluntary, but anyone who does not accept the invitation will be registered. The register is not public and data protection will be rigorous, but the data will be made available to “European partners”, stressed the minister. He emphasized again that no compulsory vaccination would be introduced in the southern European country.

Share of people who refuse to vaccinate is falling

According to a study published last Monday by the state polling institute Center for Sociological Studies, the proportion of those who refused to vaccinate in Spain has fallen significantly: 28 percent of those surveyed in December would reject an offered corona vaccination. In the previous month this share was 47 percent. At the same time, the vaccination readiness of the Spaniards rose from almost 37 to more than 40 percent.
