S&P 500 and Dow hit record highs after strong results from big banks

Apr 16 (Reuters) – The S&P 500 and the Dow hit record highs at the Wall Street open on Friday after Morgan Stanley reported a jump in quarterly earnings, with the indices on track for weekly gains.

* The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 22.17 points, or 0.07%, to 34,058.16 points. The S&P 500 was up 3.72 points, or 0.09%, at 4,174.14 and the Nasdaq Composite was up 20.35 points, or 0.14%, at 14,059.11.
