A few years ago television manufacturers seemed clear that the future of screens would be curved. A good part of their catalog offered curved models that in theory showed a better immersion capacity in the movies but in reality they did not make sense if we were more than one spectator in the room and the actual result obtained depended a lot on the viewing distance.
Hence, the curved teles will be forgotten, or at least until now, with the arrival of a more than interesting model created by the Chinese manufacturer SKYWORTH and what they have named as W82. What does it contribute to the sector of curved TVs?
Well, it offers the possibility that it is the user who chooses in real time the intensity of this radius of curvature to adapt it to your needs at all times and to the number of spectators in the room. It is something like what was offered by LG in a previous model last year but with more options and possibilities of use.
For this they make use of the tecnología OBM (OLED Basic Module) Transform which basically consists of a series of 37 modules located at the back of the TV that can flex the panel with a precision of +/- 0.05 mm allowing its curvature or flattening at the user’s will.
Three pre-programmed modes are offered that can be easily adjusted by pressing a button on the remote control with 2000R, 1500R and 1000R bend radii, the latter focused on solo players looking for maximum immersion, although it is to be assumed that technology also allows offering intermediate variations.
OLED 4K a 120 Hz y con HDMI 2.1
As for the technical specifications of the TV itself, it is a model 65-inch OLED with 4K resolution and panel 120 Hz native that by interpolation can reach 240 Hz over a response time of 1 ms.
It has a frameless design with positioning on a rotatable 8mm thick aluminum base and offers a brightness of 1.000 nits, Dolby Vision, HDR10, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), integrated 12 MP webcam, HDMI 2.1 ports and connectivity WiFi 6 up to 9.6 Gbps.
Another highlight is the one related to its integrated sound system, called SKYWORTH AUDIO DRUM and which has a dual subwoofer system at the rear with a loudspeaker volume of 1 liter and 40 watts of power to achieve a frequency response that drops down to 50 Hz.
Price and availability
Those of you who are thinking of buying one of these TVs will have to wait, because at the moment they will only go on sale in China for a price of 29,999 RMB, about 3.900 euros To the change.
