The body of a person, who was presumably a woman, was found this morning in the streets of the Colón Industrial neighborhood, in Guadalajara.
The discovery happened around 8:00 a.m., at the intersection of López de Legazpi and Rodolfo Navarrete streets, on the park that is located there.
At the point, a suitcase “with a threatening message” was found, which contained inside the dismembered body of a person; unofficially, it was said that it was a woman, since “her fingernails were painted.
Elements of the State Police went to the point to corroborate what was reported, and requested the presence of personnel from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences, where the body and suitcase were transferred to carry out the corresponding expert opinions.
The State Prosecutor’s Office reported that it is already investigating the fact under the feminicide protocol, until the investigations rule out that it was a murder for gender issues.
From January 1 to November 30 of this 2020, 248 women were murdered in Jalisco, according to statistics from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System.
Of these, only in 56 of the cases did the homicides meet the necessary characteristics to be investigated as femicides.
