The governor of Tlaxcala, Marco Mena, reported the death by COVID-19 of the Secretary of Education of the entity, Florentino Domínguez Ordóñez.

It is with deep regret that I report the death of my friend Florentino Domínguez Ordóñez, Secretary of Public Education of the @GobTlaxcala. His political legacy and in favor of the teaching profession will take place in the history of Tlaxcala. My condolences to his wife Gaby, his children and family.

The official remained hospitalized in a private clinic in Puebla after testing positive for COVID-19 since last November 20.
Florentino Domínguez was known in Tlaxcala as “El Profe” due to his training as a teacher.
He made a political career in the PRI and since 1985 he was a federal deputy on three occasions, the last time in the period between 2000 and 2003. He also campaigned in 1988 for former president Carlos Salinas de Gortari.
