Es sounds absurd. Foreign security officials are people a country usually wants to keep at bay. It sounds like a bad joke that a state not only lets them enter the country voluntarily, but also sweetens their stay with taxpayers’ money. Why on earth would a country do that?
An answer to this question is currently being struggled in Switzerland. Because that could have happened in the Alpine republic: Critics see Bern warmly inviting Chinese spies to investigate at the expense of taxpayers in Switzerland.
