The first baby in the new year 2021 in Saxony was born at exactly midnight – in Neustädter Hospital, a location of the Dresden City Clinic. Mother and child are fine. It is the third child for the 35-year-old mother, who did not want to give names. The birth proceeded normally without a caesarean section and took around 3.5 hours. The girl is 50 cm tall and weighed 3,080 grams at birth. The happy parents from Radebeul said they could hardly believe it when they heard the time of the birth.
The next New Year’s baby was born at 12:39 a.m. – in the St. Elisabeth Hospital in Leipzig. The girl was born normally, 48 cm tall and weighed 2,950 grams at birth. According to an employee of the maternity ward, at least five more children were born on New Year’s Day.
Next, a young woman from Zwickau saw the light of day at 1:33 a.m. in the Heinrich Braun Hospital: Mathilda Isabella. She weighed 3,625 grams at birth and is 50 cm tall. You and mother Janine are safe and sound, said the hospital. In a few days they can both go home, where three siblings are waiting for Mathilda Isabella.
In Chemnitz, little Johanna was the first to start. She was born at 2:22 a.m. in the DRK hospital in Chemnitz-Rabenstein. She weighed 3,950 grams at birth and is 51 cm tall. The hospital announced that it would be the first child for the happy mother from Chemnitz.
Then things went very fast in the DRK maternity clinic: the next children were born at 4:42 a.m., 5:11 a.m. and 9:32 a.m. – all normal births, as confirmed by senior physician Gunter Leichsenring.
Pauline also saw the light of day in Chemnitz. She came at 1:48 p.m., making her the first New Year’s baby in 2021 at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Chemnitz Clinic. According to the clinic, she weighed 3,075 grams and was 47 cm tall at birth.
Little Hanna took her time until 9:56 a.m. An additional relative was allowed to be present when she was born, because her grandmother works as a midwife at the Auer Helios Clinic. She is very proud of the granddaughter, the hospital said. The parents Julia and Jan Weigel from Aue-Bad Schlema are also happy about their new sunshine.
