Santander and Peel Hunt join forces to secure UK share issues

MADRID, Apr 26 (Reuters) – Spanish bank Santander and British financial services company Peel Hunt announced on Monday an agreement to offer underwriting services in large operations in the UK equity capital markets, in a scenario of growing mergers and operations activity to strengthen company balance sheets.

According to the agreement, exclusively for Peel Hunt clients in the United Kingdom, this company will be able to offer access to Santander’s insurance services for clients seeking to obtain capital in the markets, while Santander will be able to access Peel Hunt’s client base, both companies said in a statement.

The agreement covers a series of equity issues, including operations such as capital increases with rights and other placements, both in the field of mergers and acquisitions and to strengthen the companies’ balance sheets, as well as secondary offers, such as the sale significant holdings by relevant shareholders, but no IPO offers.
