After the arrival of the second round of Sputnik V vaccines, the provincial government continue applying doses to health system personnel. This schedule now contemplates the vaccination of those who they work in private health, for whom there are “reserves to boot”, even before reinforcement arrives.
The Ministry of Health waited for this Thursday, between 7 and 11, the arrival of about 5,500 doses of Russian vaccines. With them, the 11.000 initially granted by the Nation to Mendoza.
It is important to clarify that these doses They will not apply to those who already received one between the end of December and the beginning of January. These people have to wait at least 21 days after receiving the first one. Although it has not yet been specifically defined who the second batch will reach, the idea is broaden the spectrum beyond therapies and public hospital guards, which were the sectors initially prioritized, as they were the most sensitive.
In addition, Iris Aguilar, head of Immunizations of the province, announced that the vaccine will begin to reach private institutions this Thursday. “We have the reserves to start already in the private ones, but they need to send the lists of the personnel who will receive it”, explains Aguilar.
These lists will be completed today. The private registers should exclude people who work in public hospitals (who can receive the vaccine in those institutions) and those who have comorbidities. Of course, also to those who do not want to wear it, since the application is “optional“.
Regarding public hospitals, the Ministry of Health noted that just finished with the distribution. In other words, the Russian vaccine is already available in hospitals such as the one in Uspallata and Lavalle, which he arrived on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the number of people vaccinated in total in Mendoza rises over 1,100. Of them, 37 had reactions. “All these cases were mild to moderate and are expected in this type of vaccination,” said the minister. Ana Mara Nadal.
Among these mild reactions appear “local pain, fever and muscle pain”, remarked the official.
Argentina received 300 thousand doses of the Russian vaccine. With the shipment that arrives this Thursday in Mendoza and many cities in the country, the first 150 thousand delivered.
The next batch will be “second dose ” for those who have already received the first one.
