Queen Elizabeth II returned to work; made his first public appearance after the death of Prince Philip

The queen returned to her duties to the British crown to be at the retirement ceremony of Lord Chamberlain, Earl of Peel, which was held at Windsor Castle.

According to the queen’s public agenda, the earl had an audience with the queen to present his insignia of the office of Lord Chamberlain and the plaque of chancellor of the Royal Victorian Order. He was one of the staff of the royal house with the highest status and hierarchy within the organization and who was in charge of organizing the funeral of Prince Felipe.

This is not the first engagement the queen has made this week. He was also present at the ceremony in which he appointed the new Lord Chamberlain, Andrew Parker, who was director of the British security service MI5.

Prince Philip’s funeral will be held next Saturday, April 17 at 3:00 p.m. London time. The service, which will be held at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, will be attended by only 30 members of the royal family, will be behind closed doors and will be televised.
