Puebla on high alert for Covid; order total closure of non-essential activities

Puebla.- The Government of Puebla decreed this Monday Maximum Alert for the increase in Covid cases and announced the total closure of non-essential activities.

As of today and until January 11, the closure of the 217 municipalities was ordered to contain the advance of cases of the pandemic.

“We must say it: the rules were broken and there was no way to be able to restore her to a social behavior that will help for it,” said the Governor Luis Miguel Barbosa Huerta.

In an official message, the operation of only essential companies with basic operation at 20% of their capacity was ordered.

In that same period, there were 69 deaths and 888 admissions in the entire sector, most of them people between the ages of 50 and 70 in serious condition.

Barbosa said that the number of infections and hospitalized daily has reached “exponential figures”.
