The after beach on the shore of the Parador Boutique, in Pinamar, are a classic of all summers. But this season they are turning into a serious problem. In the municipality, as is also the case throughout the Atlantic coast, cases of coronavirus are increasing. Today, again, numerous groups of young people were seen dancing and jumping without there being the minimum social distance, today essential to prevent Covid-19 infections.

“We are from Bahía Blanca, it is the second year that we come and we always get together here. It is very fun and it is the meeting point, if you do not come here it is because you are with your family,” he said Belén Coronel, 18, who is with four friends and an ice cream maker with beers. All assured that they maintain the care to prevent coronavirus infections, but that in the afternoon on the beach they take the license to lower their guard.

“The issue is that we come from the whole year, that the chinstrap, the alcohol, and it is true that this is not very good or it is not recommended, but here we are all young. I do not know, it is just a fun time” added Colonel.

In the municipality there are 196 active cases of coronavirus and another 34 under study. There are also 374 people isolated for having had close contact. In total, 30 people have died in the pandemic so far. They fear that with the influx of tourists the situation will get worse. In all of Argentina, in the last 72 hours, 20,905 new cases of the virus were registered, a figure that set off the alarms of the authorities.

The beach south of Avenida Bunge and its intersection with Avenida del Mar is, without a doubt, the one chosen by youth groups. This afternoon a group of 200 young people got together to music and jumped side by side, glued together and singing inches from the face of a stranger. If there were no pandemic, that would be a cheerful postcard from the summer.

“The reality is that it is not the best, but we were not with friends throughout the year, the feeling is that one comes here and wants to have a good time and a little forget about the care, especially since we are all outdoors. But you are right, it is risky, the issue is that as we are all kids, nobody thinks that something is going to happen to them, besides here we are without our parents, “ Mariano Gino, 19, who is on vacation with three friends.

Esteban Seguí, 17 years old, I was also dancing with friends. They had brought their own bluetooth speaker. It sounded cumbia and they enjoyed it, but about five meters away from the tumult.

“And … it was known that this was going to be like that. We all came to go out and do what we did not do during the year. We do not get in the middle because it gives me a bit of an impression, it’s like I lost the habit from being among so many people, but hey, I also recognize that we have gotten together in our department with other groups and at that time no one had a chinstrap, “said Seguí.

Around 7 p.m., the situation calmed down. The Buenos Aires police arrived and with the mere police presence the boys and girls turned off the music and dispersed calmly.

“We have already asked the police chief to leave a custody in Boutique throughout the afternoon, I do not know if the Ministry of Security has already arranged it,” he explained. Lucas Ventoso, Secretary of Security for Pinamar.

Something different happened yesterday afternoon on the same beach. While the after beach was passing, the Tactical Unit for Immediate Operations (UTOI), an elite group of the Buenos Aires police that is now part of the Sol operation on the Atlantic coast, descended to the beach with quadricycles to disperse the young people who were there. found.

A video that circulated on social media shows a crowd gathered, drinking and dancing near the water. When the police officers appeared with their off-road vehicles, there were runs, but the episode did not leave any injured or detained, according to sources from the Pinamar municipality.

“The Halcón Group and the UTOI Group are based in Pinamar. We have the main special forces. Pinamar is the epicenter of the Sol operation, here there are 800 troops. What we see in the video is the usual concentration of young people. The UTOI deconcentrated the groups that were there. But there were no detainees, they did not get off the quad, they just wanted people to disperse, “added Ventoso.

The same president, Alberto Fernández, pointed out that they would use the security forces to prevent people from gathering in the streets and on the beaches: “If we see that the situation does not ease, we will see how the security forces and others begin to act. in the streets to dissipate the people and to prevent crowds, “said the President, in dialogue with Radio 10.

From the province of Buenos Aires, they indicated that they would impose restrictions if the cases continue to grow. One of them could be the closure of stores from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., something that caused discomfort in merchants who throughout the year waited for the summer months to be able to increase their profits.

On the part of the Ministry of Health of the province of Buenos Aires, they pointed out to LA NACION that, throughout the Atlantic Coast, they do not observe that citizens are complying with the protocols. “If the cases get out of control and compliance with the protocols remains unfulfilled, there may be restrictions and setbacks in the phases. Just by looking at social networks you can see that people take care of themselves less and less,” Ministry sources said.

For this reason, the authorities and merchants of Pinamar ask that, in addition to the protocols implemented by the authorized premises, citizens maintain a responsible attitude, something that, as can be seen in the images, is not always fulfilled.
