Mexico City, December 26 (However) .- The acapulco beaches, in Guerrero, and Puerto Morelos, in Quintana Roo, are visited by thousands of people in the last week of the year, when multiple entities of the country are on alert for the increase in infections of COVID-19.

The Ministry of Health of Mexico reported on Friday, Christmas Day, that the country registers one million 372 thousand 243 infections and 121 thousand 837 deaths from COVID-19 confirmed since the beginning of the pandemic at the end of last February. These data represent an increase of 9,679 cases of COVID-19 and 665 deaths compared to the report of the previous day.
With these figures, Mexico remains the fourth country in the world with the most deaths from the pandemic, followed by the United States, Brazil and India, according to the Johns Hopkins University count. According to this institution, Mexico is also the thirteenth country in the world in terms of number of registered patients.
