The Secretary of Foreign Relations (SRE), Marcelo Ebrard, reported that this morning More doses of Pfizer’s covid-19 vaccine arrived in Mexico. While the Ministry of Health (Ssa) detailed that at 09:00 hours another shipment arrived with about 7,800 vaccines to continue immunizing personnel on the front lines of the battle.
“More Pfizer vaccines arrived this morning. The Ministry of Health will report number and characteristics in a few minutes. The vaccination plan is moving forward,” he wrote on Twitter.
At the International Airport of Mexico City (AICM) the shipment of adds to the 48 thousand doses that are beingor distributed in Mexico City, Coahuila and Nuevo León.
“On January 4, a larger shipment will arrive with more than 53 thousand doses; and each week, on January 11, 18 and 25, successive shipments with larger quantities will arrive, with more than 480 thousand doses,” he said. Hugo Lopez-Gatell, Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion.
He assured that with all the vaccines that will be transferred to the entire country, about a million workers will continue to be immunized and continue with phase two of vaccines for the elderly.
It will begin with the megalopolis and metropolitan area, Mexico City and suburbs such as Morelos, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Hidalgo, where the burden of the disease is currently concentrated, and as of January 18 it will cover the entire country simultaneously.
It is expected that with this new shipment the vaccination will accelerate, which, until yesterday, accounted for 18,529 people inoculated.
