A fire in an oil pipeline in front of the marine terminal of Two mouths, in the coastal municipality of Paraíso, Tabasco, It was registered this end of the year, generating concern in the fishing sector of that town.
Producers in the area fear that this accident will affect the mangroves and oyster banks.
Meanwhile, Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) reported that the incident was controlled and explained that it was caused by loss of containment in the pipeline that transports production of offshore platforms to the Littoral Separation Battery, located in front of the Dos Bocas Maritime Terminal.
For their part, fishermen in the area assure that the incident caused an oil spill and although Pemex reported that the Emergency Response Plan (PRE) was activated to control hydrocarbon emanation and the operation of the pipeline was temporarily suspended. , to later repair it, they fear that the accident will bring consequences to the environment.
Pemex, through a statement, explained that oleophilic barriers were placed at the site and there are emergency assistance vessels at the site.
Pemex assured that so far there have been no damages to personnel and facilities and pointed out that the causes of the accident are being investigated.
