Washington – Rescue teams tried to find the passengers for three days. The search has now been stopped.
A ship with 20 people on board has disappeared between the Bahamas and the US state of Florida. The US Coast Guard announced on Saturday that the search was unsuccessful. The ship left the Bahamas island of Bimini on Monday and was scheduled to reach 50 miles (80 kilometers) in Lake Worth in Florida on the same day.
When the ship did not arrive, the coast guard was alerted on Tuesday, a spokesman said. Search teams from both countries spent three days searching an area of around 44,000 square meters from the air and at sea. The search was discontinued on Friday without any results.
