Nissan showcased details of the meticulous vehicle testing program behind Ariya’s unmatched levels of performance, comfort and control, designed to optimize the driving experience on the world’s roads.
Thoroughly tested by a team of veteran engineering experts at Nissan’s proving ground in Hokkaido, Japan, every element – from acceleration performance and precise handling to overall silence and ride comfort – has been carefully reviewed and refined. .
The rigorous development regime uses a global approach to better meet the needs of drivers around the world.
For example, the winding asphalt at the Hokkaido proving ground is designed to simulate roads commonly found in other regions, including Europe and North America.
For further evaluation and customer peace of mind, Ariya is also locally tested to demonstrate the vehicle’s performance capabilities in European driving environments such as hairpin turns, fast motorways, and mountain roads.
Nissan vehicle evaluation specialists in Japan and research and development technicians at the Nissan Technical Center in Cranfield, UK, work together to share knowledge and make appropriate adaptations for the European region and that are compliant with regulations.
“Creating the Nissan Ariya has been a very complex but incredibly rewarding journey. As part of this process, we collaborate with our colleagues in Japan; introducing European customer requirements in the early stages of development, and now doing end-product validation right here on European roads, ”said Ian Shepherd, Director of Project Management at the Nissan Europe Technical Center.
“Through this knowledge and the detailed testing program of our colleagues, we are confident that Ariya will exceed our customers’ expectations.”
