New storm low takes course – These regions must now tremble

The rain is subsiding. The levels are falling. But for the weekend there are new storms! Even in the flood areas.

A low comes in from the west and that is tough. It brings cool air masses again and they meet again existing humid and humid air masses.

“As a result, from Saturday afternoon in North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Saarland, Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate, there will be new showers, thunderstorms and unfortunately also thunderstorms. This results in heavy rain with 20 to 40 liters of rain per square meter ”, explains graduate meteorologist Dominik Jung from the Q.met weather service to BILD.

And climatologist Dr. Karsten Brandt adds to BILD: “Especially Switzerland and Baden-Württemberg, probably the Black Forest and the Alb, will be affected on Sunday and Monday. So far there haven’t been so many problems here. “

More than 100 liters per square meter are expected here by the middle / end of next week.

Weather expert Brandt: “There can be local storms again here. Certainly not nationwide, but warning again for the large Alpine region by the end of the month – a lot of water from low pressure systems. “

This is of course not without risk, especially in the flood areas. There the soil is still very soft and churned. This can easily trigger new landslides, but also briefly rising river levels.

Weather expert Jung: “We do not expect extensive precipitation like last Wednesday and Thursday, but there can be strong regional thunderstorms. It is important to keep a close eye on this situation. “

Is there a warning yet?

The German Weather Service (DWD) wrote on Tuesday morning on its website: On Saturday in the western half and in the Alps cloudy to very cloudy with showers and sometimes strong thunderstorms, local storms due to heavy rain and hail. In the night of Sunday in the west and south more shower-like, sometimes thunderstorm rainfalls, reaching across to the middle. Local storms caused by heavy rain.

Weather expert Brandt: “That’s not enough to issue a warning, it’s too local for that. Still, we should mention that. The storm summer is not over. “

This is how it will continue in the coming days:

Wednesday: 21 to 27 degrees, clouds and a few raindrops in the north, lots of sun in the south

Thursday: 21 to 30 degrees, a lot of sun in the south and sometimes very warm, to the north still clouds

Friday: 22 to 32 degrees, mostly friendly and dry

Saturday: 25 to 33 degrees, first sun, then showers, thunderstorms and storms from the west

Sunday: 24 to 29 degrees, muggy and repeatedly strong thunderstorms with heavy rain

Monday: 22 to 27 degrees, more showers and thunderstorms

Tuesday: 21 to 28 degrees, the unstable weather situation continues, more showers and thunderstorms
