Today begins the last week of the year and, until this Monday, December 28, Mexico accumulates 1 million 389 thousand 430 cases of COVID-19. As well as 122,855 deaths by the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Without the presence of the Undersecretary of Health Hugo Lopez-Gatell, the doctor Ruy López Ridaura, director of the National Center for Preventive Programs and Disease Control, was the one who presented the numbers of the pandemic that accumulate until this Monday in Mexico. And he reiterated what is the panorama of the COVID Epidemiological Traffic Light in the states.
Based on this Monday’s numbers, 429 deaths were added in the last 24 hours due to COVID-19 and 5 thousand 996 confirmed cases.
Likewise, the health authorities highlighted that, until this December 28th, more than 1 million 48 thousand patients recovered from COVID-19, among the more than 1 million 389 thousand accumulated cases.
However, more than 68,000 people tested positive for the condition in the past fourteen days. In this way, they represent the active COVID cases that exist until this Monday, the day that begins the last epidemiological week of 2020.

In the same way, after the arrival of more than 40 thousand doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer and BioNTech to our country this Saturday, the vaccination started in Coahuila.
In this sense, on Thursday, December 24, the COVID vaccination in CDMX, State of Mexico and Querétaro, with almost 3,000 vaccinations for workers in the Health sector. And, according to Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard, more doses will arrive this Tuesday, December 29.
