Millie Bobby Brown wants you to stop seeing her as a little girl.

It’s no secret that Millie Bobby Brown it’s an icon on the screen. He is barely 17 years old but he has already become one of the biggest promises in the industry for his acting talent. As if that were not enough, with her charisma, eloquence and great style, she has shown that she is at the height of the most powerful women of the moment.

The star of Stranger Things started in 2013 and has only continued to gain traction since then.

Even when it seems that her life is perfect, she herself has confessed that nothing is what it seems and that growing up in such a demanding industry is not easy.

The actress recently gave an interview for MTV in which she revealed the darker side of being a child actress.

She has grown up in the public eye and, as she recounted, is uncomfortable with the fact that some people are not yet ready to accept that they are almost an adult.

“I am only 17 years old, but at the end of the day, I am learning to be a young woman. So, being a girl, people watch you grow up, right? And they have almost been involved in your growth and your journey. But they are not ready to accept the fact that you are growing, ”he said.

Millie has always been pointed out by those who consider that her way of dressing or behaving is not “of a girl of her age”. But that only shows that they are seeing her as a childish character that never grows up. This was even a problem when in later seasons of Stranger Things Eleven’s character was adapted to Millie’s preadolescence.

“So I put on a crop top and people say, ‘She’s 10 years old.’ I was like, ‘No… I’m 17 years old.’ That’s something girls do, “he explained. “Or I wear high heels. Or I put on an outfit for an awards show and they say, ‘It looks 50’. No, it’s because you’ve seen me since I was 10 years old. That’s why you think that. ”

The problem is seeing Millie’s evolution as a problem.

Millie has repeatedly condemned the media for “sexualizing” her since before her 16th birthday. And it is that some have even pointed out that he resorted to cosmetic surgeries, which is why – according to them – his face looks like that of an adult woman.

“There are times when I am frustrated by inaccuracy, inappropriate comments, sexualization, and unnecessary name calling that has ultimately caused me pain and insecurity,” she wrote in a 2020 caption.

Brown began her acting career when she guest-starred on the fantasy series ABC Once Upon a Time in Wonderland as Young Alice, and then she had roles on NCIS, Modern Family it is included Grey’s Anatomy. She finally got her big role as Eleven in Stranger Things in 2016, and her acting career took off to the top.

Today she is a model, producer and businesswoman, in addition to being often involved in altruistic projects.

She was named one of the most influential teens in Time in 2017, then one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018, by the same magazine. He finally became the youngest person in history to be named UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, just to name a few of his accomplishments.

Millie wants her fans to accept the person she’s becoming because she won’t be a girl forever.

“They don’t accept it and I accepted it completely. You know, I’m ready. I say, ‘It’s been a while. Let me wear a high heel! ‘”
