Mexico adds 126,507 deaths from Covid and one million 437 thousand infections

The Ministry of Health reported that Mexico accumulated 700 more deaths than yesterday associated with Covid-19, so in total they add 126 thousand 507, as well as 11,091 new cases diagnosed with coronavirus, to account for 1 million 437 thousand 185.

According to Covid-19 Daily Technical Report, the incidence rate of accumulated cases is 1,124 per 100,000 inhabitants and the latest update indicates that there are 407,709 cases with suspected respiratory disease.

The document highlights that the 10 entities with the highest number of positive diagnoses to SarsCoV2 are Mexico City, State of Mexico, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Jalisco, Sonora, Coahuila, Puebla, Tabasco and Veracruz, which together make up 65% of all contagions in the country.

“Mexico City registers most of the accumulated cases in the country and alone represents 23% of all cases registered by state,” the report detailed.

Regarding the active epidemic, the agency headed by Jorge Alcocer Varela indicated that to date, 60,302 people contracted the virus 14 days ago and therefore can still transmit it.

“Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León and Guanajuato are the entities with the highest number of active cases with more than 3,000, followed by Jalisco, Tabasco, Querétaro, Puebla, Coahuila, Sonora and Hidalgo as the entities with more than one thousand active cases, which together account for 85% of the active cases in the country ”.

While the number of patients who recovered from respiratory disease since the first case was reported amounts to one million 83 thousand 768.

At the information cutoff, the SSa reported that the country has 126 thousand 507 deaths from Covid-19, “so far, there are 17 thousand 817 suspicious deaths that include those pending by laboratory and those that are in a process of clinical judgment, which so 14,227 ”.

As for deaths, Mexico City is the entity with the most deaths from coronavirus with a total of 21,810, followed by the State of Mexico with 14,423, Veracruz with 6,220, Jalisco with 6,810 and Puebla with 5 thousand 759.

Mexico City, State of Mexico, Veracruz, Jalisco, Puebla, Baja California, Guanajuato, Nuevo León, Chihuahua and Sinaloa rank as the 10 entities that have registered the highest number of deaths and together represent 62% of all those that occurred in Mexico. “Mexico City alone accounts for 17% of all deaths nationwide,” the report announced.

In contrast, the states with the lowest number of deaths from coronavirus are Baja California Sur with 777, Colima with 851, Campeche with 973, Nayarit with 1,010 and Chiapas with 1,117.

According to the Undersecretariat for Prevention and Health Promotion, the distribution by sex in confirmed deaths shows a prevalence of 63% in men, in addition to the median age of deaths is 64 years.

In order to avoid contagion, the Ministry of Health, through the technical report, recommends people suffering from diabetes, hypertension, morbid obesity, kidney failure, lupus, cancer, heart and respiratory diseases, as well as older adults and pregnant women to stay safe at home and keep a distance of no less than a meter and a half.

“For the protection and care of the elderly, the most important measures is voluntary social isolation and following the recommendations of healthy distance and prevention measures.”

The unit also invites you to wear face masks and wash your hands frequently, in addition to ventilating closed places and not saying hello with a kiss, hand or hug.
