Mercedes-AMG has presented part of what will be its transformation towards electrification and with this we refer to the new propulsion systems plug-in hybrids that will integrate the sports of the range.
The next Mercedes-AMG C-Class will be the first vehicle of the family in change 4.0 liter V8 engine with twin turbocharger for the new hybrid drivetrain four cylinders in line 2.0-liter turbocharged.
The firm assures that this internal combustion engine can generate more than 442 hp on its own, so the power figures will ultimately be higher thanks to the support of the electric motor.
AMG’s new plug-in hybrid powertrains, which also include an electrified version of the aforementioned V8, will drive the new models under the name E Performance that will debut at the end of the year.
AMG says the plug-in V8 is capable of exceeding 804 hp and 738 pound-feet of torque, allowing the car to do the 0 to 100 km / h in just 3 seconds.
The high-performance company will position the new V8 biturbo plug-in hybrid powertrain in various E Performance models, with the exception of the C-Class, among them, in the next AMG GT73.
During the presentation, AMG also announced that a high-performance version of the EQS will be coming this year..
It should be mentioned that currently the engines that are integrated in models such as the A45, CLA45 and GLA45, are mounted transversely, but in the next plug-in hybrids they will be placed longitudinally, improving weight distribution.
For now the figures are unknown that offer both engines in terms of range, however, will be announced soon.
