Mexico City, January 1 (However) .- Medical personnel are manifested today in front of the Specialty Hospital The Race of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in the Mayor’s Office Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, to denounce lack of supplies, inequity and alleged influentialism in the application of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Around 20 health workers, including nurses and doctors, closed traffic at the intersection of Vallejo avenue and Circuito Interior, where they prostrated themselves with banners in hand, made a pint and placed boxes that simulated coolers with vaccines, as an act symbolic “in a tone of claim against the influentialism with which they are applying the COVID-19 vaccine,” reported Rafael Soto, Spokesperson for the National Union of Health Workers of Mexico (UNTSM), through his social networks.

Medical staff insisted that vaccines have been given to administrative personnel and not to all those who are on the front lines of the battle against the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic.

The workers also accused that some have not received the year-end bonus and that they sometimes work without sufficient inputs to protect themselves from contagion.

Family of doctor “jumped the line” and with “influentialism” was vaccinated against COVID in Edomex: AMLO

Yesterday the complaint of the person who identified herself as Dr. Ana Paola De Cosio, a pediatric endocrinologist, went viral, who assured that administrative personnel have “hooked” part of the vaccines against COVID-19, which is why she resigned her temporary position.

Through a video posted on Twitter, Cosío Farías said that since April he has been collaborating with the Pediatric Hospital of the Centro Médico Nacional Siglo XX of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) and denounced that the medical personnel who are fighting the disease have not been immunized because the administrative staff has “hooked” the vaccines.

The doctor explained that the administrative staff is enrolled at the top of the vaccination list and in view of this situation, she decided to resign.

In addition, he requested that the personnel who received the vaccine take care of the patients with COVID-19.

“Now it turns out that we do not appear on the vaccination lists when there are administrative personnel who are receiving the vaccine arguing that they are in charge of COVID teams, but they never get in or are never exposed,” he explained.

The workers who demonstrated today detailed that part of the protest is also to provide support to Dr. Ana Paola Cosio.

The woman denounced that she has received threats from her superiors, who intend to accuse her of “abandoning work.”

“I have decided to resign due to inequity, due to the gandalism of the authorities, the lack of vaccination for those of us who are in the front line,” Cosío said.
