“Manotas” Mejía has a new team in Uruguay

The Panamanian goalkeeper Luis Ricardo Mejía Cajar, better known as “Manotas” surprised by announcing his non-renewal with National in December of last year, so in these months it was in uncertainty his future, until today, it was announced that he reached a verbal agreement to join Phoenix, also from soccer Uruguay.

30-year-old Mejía he was training with the Albivioletas in recent months, this to stay in shape after running out of equipment and to be in rhythm taking into account that the games of Panama World Cup qualifier, although he could not be because he gave Covid-19 positive.

Luis Mejía will once again defend the colors of the Albivioletas and thus he will fulfill his third stage in the institution, the first time was when he arrived in 2010, but then he left in 2011 to go on loan to the Toulouse from Francia. His return occurred that same year and lasted until 2015, to later be part of National and in this 2021 his return occurs again.

“Manotas” Mejía now seek to transcend with Phoenix, just as it did with National where he won all the titles in Uruguay. The Panamanian currently you are in your country after returning after negative on swab tests and then he will move to the Uruguayan nation to make his hiring official.
