Mali: Drunk French soldier shoots comrades

EA drunken French soldier shot two of his comrades in Mali. The incident occurred on Friday night at the base in Gao, army spokesman Frédéric Barbry told the AFP news agency on Saturday. One of the wounded soldiers was slightly injured, the other more seriously. But there is no mortal danger. Both were flown to France and taken to a hospital.

The shots were preceded by an argument, said Barbry. Thereupon one of the participants took up his service weapon. The incident is now being investigated by the military police. After the investigation is complete, the alleged shooter will also be brought back to France.
