MACRO DATA- The French composite PMI for March stands at 50.0, higher than expected

* The data analysis institute IHS Markit said on Wednesday that its Composite Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) for France, considered a good barometer of the country’s economic health, stood at a level of 50.0 in March, higher than expected. . * Economists polled by Reuters had expected the survey index to stand at 49.5, below the 50-point threshold that separates expansion from contraction in activity in the sector. * Composite PMI, which is compiled from entrepreneurial surveys of the manufacturing and services sectors, was above a tentative estimate of 49.5. * The French PMI for the services sector exceeded expectations, registering a level of 48.2 in March. * A Reuters poll of analysts had forecast the service sector indicator to hit 47.8 in March * Final services PMI was higher than a preliminary estimate of 47.8.
