* The eurozone CPI rose 1.3% in March, as expected by the market, after a 0.9% increase in February, according to year-on-year data provisional reports published on Wednesday by Eurostat, the statistical agency of the European Union.

* A Reuters poll also forecast inflation of 1.3%.

* Excluding energy and unprocessed food – the so-called “core” inflation, which tries to eliminate the distortions caused by the high volatility of these components -, prices rose 1.0% in February, lower than expected by the market, after an increase of 1.4% in January.

* The Reuters survey of economists had forecast a year-on-year core inflation of 1.1%.
