López-Gatell travels to Argentina to learn about the Russian vaccine experience

The undersecretary traveled to Argentina and will be received by the president of that nation, Alberto Fernández, with whom the Mexican president maintains a close relationship.

López Obrador clarified that the intention is to acquire more doses to immunize against the coronavirus, since until now it has purchase agreements with Pfizer, AstraZeneca, CanSino and those prepared by the COVAX portfolio.

“We need to vaccinate and have enough vaccines. Now we are vaccinating an average of 4,500-5,000 people a day and we have doses, we are going to intensify the vaccination and we require more ”, he assured.

The Mexican government’s national vaccination plan began on December 24 with the application of doses to medical personnel who are treating patients with coronavirus. So far 53,185 vaccinated people have been applied, however, the government seeks to increase the speed and number of immunizations given the rebound in infections and deaths, which this Wednesday registered a record.
