Best and worst scenario of each Guard1anes team
Puebla 0-0 Pumas
The Strip has surprised locals and strangers due to its good pace. Nicolás Larcamón’s work at the head of the Puebla bench is worth highlighting and they have the team in third place in the general table with 27 points and one more victory would give them their automatic classification among the first four places in the general table if that much Monterrey and Santos lose this day’s game against Tigres and Pachuca, respectively.
After the draw against Pumas, the Camotero team would lose their direct pass to Liguilla in case Rayados and Santos win their respective duels.
Meanwhile, the Auriazules are one step away from the repechage zone with 18 points, but they have to wait for Tigres, Toluca and Chivas to lose on Matchday 16 to aspire to a place in the reclassification phase and fight for the title.
Tijuana 1-0 Necaxa
Xolos premiered Robert Dante Siboldi on the border bench, the Uruguayan seeks to secure a place in the playoffs on the last date after beating Necaxa by the minimum. Currently, those of Mictlán are 11th place with 19 units and are one step away from confirming a place in the reclassification, since with 19 units they would tie a place among the first 12, but they continue to depend on what teams that are above do from them.
For its part, Necaxa is no longer playing anything, since it was left with 11 points and it no longer reaches the 12th place, which is Tigres and has 19 units, so it is the only team, so far, eliminated from the tournament.
Mazatlan 4-3 Leon
Those led by Tomás Boy climbed to eighth place with 21 units and await the results of Toluca, Chivas, Tigres and Querétaro this same day.
Opposite, the Green Panzas are sixth in the general table with 23 points. However, with the disaster against Mazatlán, Atlas can surpass them in the classification if they prevail in the Tapatío Classic.
Cruz Azul 3-2 Atlético de San Luis
The Cement Machine returned to the path of victory, after defeating Atlético de San Luis 3-2 at the Azteca stadium. With this result, the cement team consolidates the leadership of Guard1anes 2021 with 40 points, no matter what America does this Sunday, which plays against Toluca
Meanwhile, the San Luis team was left with 12 units and plunged into a severe crisis of results that could lead it to pay the fine of 120 million pesos, in case of finishing in the last place of the percentage. Also, San Luis accumulates six defeats in a row.
Atlas 0-1 Chivas
Guadalajara tied another victory and this was in the Clásico Tapatío by beating the Zorros del Atlas 0-1. With this victory, Chivas is fully involved in the fight for a place in the 2021 Guard1ianes playoffs.
Meanwhile, the red-black defeat is painful, as it lags behind in the general table, in addition to suspending on the last date whether or not it will pay the 120 million pesos, a fine for being in last place in the relegation table .
Tigres 2-1 Monterrey
The Classic Regio went to the side of Tigres, who prevailed at the University Stadium 2-1.
The goals of the match were in charge of Carlos González and André-Pierre Gignac. The Monterrey goal was the work of Alfonso González.
With this result, Tigres reached 19 points and strengthened in the playoffs, while Rayados was left with 25 units. Tigres adds 45 wins to 41 from Monterrey and 38 draws in Clásicos Regios.
Toluca vs. America (Sunday, 5:30 PM)
A key duel for the Diablos and placement for the Eagles, and that is that those of Coapa want to snatch the first position of the general table from Cruz Azul, as they are the second team classified directly to the quarterfinals.
Santiago Solari’s pupils have 35 points and are two units away from the Machine, so they expect a stumble from the celestial to be able to take the top of the table, which would be azulcrema if they had not lost the game against Atlas in table. In case of adding three points and the Machine loses, they will sleep as leaders and they would play the top on the last date against Pumas.
Meanwhile, Toluca, which is eighth, has 19 units that cannot be trusted and the bad step they are taking is evident, so they run a lot of risk of being left out of reclassification if they lose their last two games and Chivas, Tigres, Querétaro, Mazatlán, Pumas Pachuca and Tijuana both win. Should they beat América, the Devils would be practically securing their place in the Repechage while a tie could send them up to 12th on the table.
Querétaro vs. FC Juárez (Sunday, 19:30)
Los Gallos Blancos are 11th in the general table with 18 units and in case of winning they would reach 21 points and would have a place in the playoffs in their hands. A loss and various combinations of results can send them up to 15th place.
Meanwhile, the Braves are 17th with 12 points and a loss practically leaves them with no options to qualify and eliminate. In case of winning, with 15 units they would hope that San Luis, Tijuana, Pachuca, Pumas and Mazatlán do not win.
Pachuca vs. Santos (Monday, 9:00 p.m.)
The Warriors lost their place in the top four of the overall table and now they want it back. With 25 units they are fifth in the ranking. In case of winning, they would reach third position if Puebla and Monterrey lose or tie. In case of equalizing against Pachuca, Torreón’s team could rise to fourth position but it depends on Monterrey and León losing.
Meanwhile, the Tuzos are the 14th place in the general table with 17 points and if they win they would reach 20 units, which would give them the classification to the playoff with stumbles from those who are above them, but to ensure a place they need Pumas , Mazatlán, Querétaro, Tigres, Chivas and Pumas do not add up to three. On the other hand, a draw or loss against Santos could knock them out of the title fight.
