Brad Keselowski claimed victory at Talladega on Match 10 of the 2021 NASCAR Cup season.
Brad Keselowski He fulfilled the old adage that the only lap that matters to lead is the one that takes you to the checkered flag and this Sunday afternoon he prevailed in overtime in the tenth round of the 2021 season of the NASCAR Cup Series.
Keselowski recovered from an accident early in the race and only led one lap. On the final lap, his Ford teammate, Matt DiBenedetto, exited the bottom lane and allowed the winner to get clean air to score his first win of the season.
Keselowski’s victory was the sixth at Talladega with his name being inscribed next to that of Dale Earnhardt Jr y Jeff Gordon as the second best winners in this oval in all of history.
“Throughout the race, I had a couple of chances to take the lead, but I kept thinking I just had to keep the car in one piece until the end. I’ve had a drought for the last four years, but it’s nice to win by sixth time, ”said the winner.
“I never would have dreamed that I would tie Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr. here. That’s something because they are legends.”
