Zacatecas. – This Monday he died a victim of Covid the Zacatecan journalist Luis Enrique Mercado Sánchez, newspaper editor Image Zacatecas and La Voz radio station.
The news was confirmed by the media he owned and by relatives of the 68-year-old journalist.
In recent days it was learned that due to Covid and complications associated with pneumonia, he was hospitalized, but unfortunately this day he lost his life.
Just on December 11, on his social networks he dedicated a very emotional message to say goodbye to his sister Susana, who also died from Covid-19.
Luis Enrique stood out in journalism for specializing in economics and finance, who worked in THE UNIVERSAL As editor of the financial section, he later founded The Economist, which he directed for 20 years and also ventured into politics by becoming a federal deputy for the PAN in the LXI Legislature.
As of 2012, he returned to his native Zacatecas to direct his newspaper Imagen, which he founded since 1997.
Through Twitter, the president of the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex), lamented the death of the journalist.
